Putra Heights: Victims of the gas pipeline blaze in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya are urged to go to the Putra Heights Mosque temporary relief centre to have their identification documents (IDs) replaced for free.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah announced that the National Registration Department (JPN) has mobilised Bas Mekar and a mobile counter to assist affected individuals. This initiative aims to provide convenience, allowing victims to replace essential documents like identification cards and birth certificates without visiting other JPN offices.
“This is to enable them to come here instead of going to other JPN offices elsewhere to obtain services, mainly for the replacement of personal identification documents for free, particularly identification cards, birth certificates and other documents that come under the JPN’s purview,” Shamsul Anuar stated. He further highlighted the importance of these documents for making insurance claims and obtaining aid. The operation commenced today and will continue as needed.
To date, the JPN has successfully replaced 19 identification cards and 43 birth certificates through this service. Shamsul Anuar also expressed his condolences to the victims and reiterated the ministry’s commitment to alleviating their challenges during this period.
