Kuala lumpur: Malaysian racer Putera Adam Halim Muazzam is using the IAME Series Asia 2026 as a warm-up ahead of his participation in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia in Shanghai next September. The 20-year-old described go-karting as one of the best ways to maintain the fitness level required for racing, as driving a go-kart was more physically demanding than driving other types of racing cars.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Putera Adam expressed that he returned to go-karting to enhance his fitness as part of his preparation for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia. He emphasized the physical demands of go-karting, stating, "I came back to this race to build up my fitness. I feel that go-karting is more tiring than driving a car and is good preparation before the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia."

Putera Adam also shared his ambitions for the upcoming Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, aiming for the championship title after a successful stint in Europe. "For the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, of course my target is to become champion. But this year's performance has not been as good as last year because this is a new experience for me racing in Asia. Last year I won in Europe, but this year I will still do my best," he mentioned after finishing seventh in the IAME Series Asia 2026 race.

In the recent karting event, Putera Adam represented DRM Racing Team in kart No. 245. He recorded a fastest lap of 1:06.735s, finishing 7.078 seconds behind the leader. His compatriot Zarief Rayqal Fahruddin finished fifth, while Thai racer Toby Gale won the race, followed by Singapore's Dilan Tan and Spain's Aaron Garcia.

IAME Series Asia Executive Director Daniel Ling highlighted the record-breaking participation in today's race at the LYL International Karting Circuit. The championship, featuring 121 racers from 15 countries, marked its largest field in history, showcasing talents from various nations including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and more.
