PTPTN and Royale Chulan Bring Joy to Orphans with Raikan Syawal 2026

Kuala lumpur: The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) continued its tradition of reaching out to the less fortunate, by organising the Raikan Syawal Bersama Anak-Anak Yatim dan Asnaf 2026, aimed at fostering a spirit of togetherness and compassion during the month of Ramadan.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, PTPTN chairman Datuk Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim officiated the presentation of contributions, witnessed by Boustead Hotels and Resort chief executive officer Datuk Rosthman Ibrahim and PTPTN chief operating officer Mastura Mohd Khalid. Norliza stated that the programme, which began in 2016, is among PTPTN's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, serving as a platform to share blessings with orphans and asnaf groups, so they too can experience the joy and excitement of preparing for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration.

'Through this programme, PTPTN remains committed to nurturing the values of togetherness, compassion, and care within the community. It is hoped that this contribution will brighten the recipients' Aidilfitri celebration while motivating them to study diligently and continue striving for success,' she said, in her welcoming speech at the event. She added that the initiative also aims to cultivate a savings culture from an early stage, as preparation for a more secure educational future.

Elaborating further, Norliza mentioned that the programme, implemented in collaboration with Royale Chulan Hotels and Resorts Malaysia, featured two main activities: festive attire shopping and iftar (breaking-of-fast). The Raya clothing shopping activity was held in the morning at Jakel Mall Kuala Lumpur, involving 100 recipients, comprising orphans from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Asnaf Al-Barakh and Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Pusat Jagaan Kasih Ehsan Sejati. Each recipient received a set of Raya clothing, worth RM200, and festive cookies, worth RM40, bringing the total value of PTPTN's contribution to RM24,000.

Meanwhile, Royale Chulan Hotels and Resorts Malaysia provided the iftar meal and also contributed RM5,000 to 100 orphans and asnaf through the opening of Simpan SSPN Prime accounts, with each recipient receiving RM50. Rosthman expressed that the programme, organised with PTPTN, was part of Royale Chulan Hotels and Resorts' commitment to practising environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. 'We greatly appreciate this collaboration with PTPTN, as it embodies the spirit of giving and sharing, particularly during the blessed month of Ramadan. For us, Royale Chulan is not merely about providing rooms or event spaces, but about creating spaces for togetherness and joy,' he said.
