Bawong: The Public Service Department (PSD) has sanctioned nine new positions, including roles for assistant administrative officers and assistant engineers, to bolster the governance and operational efficiency of the Orang Asli One Stop Centre (OAOSC) in Bawong. PSD director-general Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz emphasized that the OAOSC’s operations have significantly empowered the local population by offering administrative infrastructure and essential facilities, promoting socio-economic development for the Orang Asli community.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the OAOSC, a pilot project initiated in 2022 with a development cost of RM166.4 million, is equipped with facilities such as a library, multipurpose hall, automated teller machine (ATM), and bus services. This initiative aims to enhance the centre’s effectiveness and functionality. The new recruitments, covering various schemes and grades, are expected to improve service delivery, aligning with the aspirations of the MADANI principles.
During a working visit and interaction session with the Orang Asli Community at OAOSC Bawong, Wan Ahmad Dahlan highlighted the importance of collaboration between the federal and state-level civil servants and the Tok Batin (Orang Asli village chiefs) to effectively address emerging issues. He urged civil servants to strengthen their cooperation with the Tok Batins, who are closely connected to the community and act swiftly to address residents’ concerns.
The session was attended by Perak State Secretary Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Advisor Datuk Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Datuk Mohd Zaki Mahyuddin, and Perak Public Service Commission (SPA) chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan.
