PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia 2025 Introduces 23 New Categories

Kuala Lumpur: The 12th edition of PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia, in partnership with iProperty, will expand in 2025 with the introduction of 23 new award categories, bringing the total to 132.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, PropertyGuru announced that the awards, which celebrate excellence in property development and design, are scheduled for Oct 9, 2025, at The St Regis Kuala Lumpur. The winners will advance to compete in the 20th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok on Dec 12, 2025.

This year’s edition will feature nine new awards for landed and high-rise developments across Central, Northern, and Southern Malaysia, covering Ultra Luxury and Mid-End categories for both property types. In addition, seven new categories will recognize residential projects such as Best Townhouse, Mixed-Use, Oceanview, Serviced Apartment, and Heritage Developments. Two new categories will also highlight commercial projects with Best Lifestyle Commercial Development and Best Nature Integrated Development.

Six design categories have been introduced to honor excellence in architecture and interior aesthetics. These include Best Townhouse Architecture, Interior, Landscape, Sales Gallery, Retail Interior, and Office Architectural Design. The expansion of categories builds on the success of the ESG Developer Awards introduced in 2024. These special awards will return to acknowledge five champions in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, reinforcing PropertyGuru’s commitment to sustainable development.

Malaysian Institute of Architects president and judging panel chairperson Datuk Ezumi Harzani Ismail noted that last year’s award winners demonstrated improvements in Malaysia’s property sector and the industry’s ability to adapt to changing standards. He stated that participating in the awards is crucial for developers as it sets higher benchmarks in real estate development and design, fostering healthy competition and collaborative innovation.

A 14-member panel, led by Ezumi Harzani, will evaluate entries and select winners during the Live Judging Days in July 2025. The panel consists of experts in town planning, ESG, property valuation, engineering, management, architecture, design, and law.
