Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Prisons Department is prepared to execute any official instructions concerning the decision from the 64th meeting of the Pardons Board for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, and Putrajaya regarding the conditional pardon for former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, any official notifications and documents related to the Pardons Board's decision will be communicated through appropriate channels before being forwarded to the department for further action. The department emphasized its readiness to implement instructions received from relevant authorities, adhering to the law, prison regulations, and current rules and procedures.

The department assured that any decisions and instructions it receives will be executed in an orderly and professional manner, maintaining integrity and compliance with the legal provisions and rulings of the relevant authorities. It also called on all parties to consult official sources and avoid speculation regarding the decision's implementation.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail mentioned that the Prisons Department is still waiting for an official letter to inform them of the matter. He stated that the department needs to review the official notification to ensure the decision aligns with existing laws.

A statement from the Legal Affairs Division (BHEUU) of the Prime Minister's Department noted that His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, agreed to grant a conditional pardon to Najib. This pardon allows Najib to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until August 23, 2028, contingent upon a RM50 million fine.
