Prime Minister Reaffirms Equal Development Allocations Across All Constituencies

Kuala Lumpur:Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that development allocations are being provided to all parliamentary constituencies, irrespective of the political parties representing them. This announcement was made during the Ministers' Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized that the MADANI Government is committed to distributing development allocations fairly. These allocations include funds for repairing schools, roads, and mosques, ensuring that no constituency is left without support. He addressed concerns raised by Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh regarding equitable distribution and the potential enactment of laws to guarantee it.

Anwar further illustrated the government's approach by citing the increase in federal allocations for Terengganu from RM6 billion to RM8.2 billion in 2027. He clarified that development funds are not channeled directly to Members of Parliament but are determined through collaboration with state governments and relevant ministries.

He also mentioned that direct allocations to opposition MPs were previously arranged under a confidence and supply agreement. National development priorities are established through discussions with various government bodies, taking into account financial capacity and local needs.

For Besut, Anwar highlighted that RM123 million has been allocated for 197 projects, including infrastructure and healthcare improvements. These projects aim to address the specific needs and priorities of the local communities, reflecting the government's policy in project determination within the national development framework.
