Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim Addresses Ministry Differences as Healthy Discourse

Kuala Lumpur:Differing views or approaches among ministries are not indicative of a division within the government, according to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar described these differences as part of a healthy policy deliberation process that takes into account respective responsibilities, jurisdictions, and priorities to ensure the effective implementation of the MADANI Government's agenda.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the government systematically coordinates between ministries to align policies, prevent overlapping functions, and ensure decisions are made based on public interest, national development priorities, and the government's financial capacity. He highlighted that government policies and decisions undergo proper deliberation and coordination, with collective decisions being tabled for Cabinet consideration and approval, adhering to the principle of collective ministerial responsibility.

Anwar's remarks were made in a written reply published on the Parliament website in response to a question from Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, who inquired about recent instances where the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development publicly issued conflicting positions on several issues. Anwar assured that the government will continue to strengthen inter-ministerial cooperation, enhance policy implementation, and monitor initiative outcomes to ensure decisions translate into tangible and sustainable benefits for the people.

The Prime Minister also noted that the country's economic performance is continuously monitored based on current indicators to assess policy effectiveness and strengthen economic resilience against global uncertainties.
