Kuala Lumpur:Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Malaysians to seize the Deepavali celebration as an opportunity to promote goodwill, mutual respect, and harmony within the country's multicultural and multi-faith society.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized in a Facebook post that despite the diverse cultural and religious backgrounds of Malaysians, they share common values such as love, understanding, and a desire for peaceful coexistence. He highlighted the beauty of Malaysia's diversity and urged its preservation, wishing everyone a Happy Deepavali.

Anwar also shared a video of his recent visit to the 2026 Deepavali Mega Bazaar in Brickfields. The video, lasting over two minutes, showcases his engagement with the community in anticipation of the Festival of Lights, which will be celebrated by Hindus nationwide this Sunday.
