Subang Jaya: The implementation of the Festival Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) has been able to ensure that the prices of goods ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri are under control and there is no shortage of food supplies, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He noted that the continuous efforts of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) have also contributed to making certain food items cheaper during this period.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized that there is no shortage of goods, and the SHMMP has successfully kept prices low, particularly for eggs and many other items. He shared these insights with reporters after launching the Singgah Madani programme at the USJ Subang Mydin Hypermarket today, aimed at checking the prices of goods during the SHMMP for Aidilfitri.
The event was attended by notable figures such as KPDN Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, and Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (Mydin) managing director Datuk Dr Ameer Ali Mydin. Anwar expressed gratitude towards the management of Mydin for their role in offering reasonable prices to the public.
The Singgah MADANI programme is designed to provide information about the efforts and policies implemented by the MADANI Government to ensure the well-being of the people. In addition to a forum conducted by AKM, the program includes the Price Reduction Campaign by the KPDN.
During his visit, Anwar, who arrived at 11.40 am, took the time to inspect the prices and quantities of goods in the hypermarket. He also officiated the price reduction campaign, marked by the placement of the MADANI Malaysia logo at the premises.
The Prime Minister further inaugurated the Singgah MADANI Happy Hour Sale, which witnessed many buyers seizing the opportunity to purchase essential goods at reasonable prices.
