PRG Holdings Bhd Names Steven Kang as Group Managing Director and Executive Director

Kuala lumpur: PRG Holdings Bhd has announced the appointment of Steven Kang Boon Lian as its new group managing director and executive director, effective immediately. Kang replaces Andrew Chan Lim-Fai in these roles.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kang, a Singaporean national, has been serving as the group managing director of the energy efficiency business within the company. His experience in energy efficiency, green buildings, data centres, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, business development, and technical advisory has been noted as significant assets to the company. This development was confirmed in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

PRG Holdings Bhd's 2025 annual report highlighted the energy efficiency division as the group's key growth engine, with revenue increasing substantially to RM154.7 million from RM98.6 million in 2024. The division outperformed other sectors within the company, including property and construction, manufacturing, and agriculture.

The board of PRG Holdings has also welcomed Shahjanaz Kamaruddin as a new director. She is a qualified lawyer and currently serves as a director at Hextar Industries, a fertiliser manufacturing company.

The company disclosed that its board approved these leadership appointments on July 6, 2026, after careful consideration of the group's leadership and organisational needs. Andrew Chan Lim-Fai had communicated his decision to step down from his roles as group managing director and executive director to the board on the same date.

The board expressed confidence that these leadership changes would provide continuity while reinforcing the company's commitment to governance, accountability, and responsible management. The transition aligns with the board's responsibility to ensure that the company's leadership remains aligned with its strategic priorities and the long-term interests of both the company and its shareholders.
