Kuala lumpur: Professional men's doubles pair, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Mohd Rumsani will undergo training sessions with the national team in preparation for the Malaysia Open which will open on January 6. National men's doubles head coach Herry Iman Pierngadi stated that the pair will train twice a week to enhance the quality of sparring, benefiting both the national men's doubles team and the pair themselves.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, coach Rexy contacted Herry about the independent players joining the training twice a week. Herry agreed, noting the importance of preparing for the Malaysia Open. He mentioned that the sparring sessions might be less intense when conducted independently, making it beneficial for the players to train together. Herry emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration during these sessions.
Herry further expressed his belief that training with professional pairs can foster healthy competition among players. He noted that sparring with the independent players is advantageous as both groups are at a high level of performance. This arrangement is seen as a positive move for enhancing the overall training quality.
He clarified that the current training arrangement with the professional players is short-term, focused specifically on preparation for the upcoming Malaysia Open. There have been no discussions yet regarding extending this collaboration to other tournaments, such as the Thomas Cup.
