Johor bahru: The People's Progressive Party (PPP) has announced its intention to contest two state seats in the upcoming Johor state election, as stated by PPP Malaysia president Datuk Dr J. Loga Bala Mohan. During a recent meeting with Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, PPP conveyed this ambition, while emphasizing its willingness to accept any decision made by the coalition leadership.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Dr J. Loga Bala Mohan expressed confidence in the consensus-driven approach with BN. "We give the Menteri Besar (Onn Hafiz) space to make a decision. We have an understanding with them (BN) and we will resolve this through consensus. We will not make any demand (if seats are not allocated)," he stated during a press conference following the sixth PPP Supreme Council meeting.
Loga Bala Mohan, who is set to lead the PPP election machinery in Johor, also noted that the party would actively support BN throughout the campaign for the state election. In addition to Johor, PPP has similar aspirations for the Negeri Sembilan state election, aiming to contest two state seats there as well. However, discussions with the Negeri Sembilan BN leadership are yet to occur and will be addressed later.
