Power Supply Restored in Klang Valley and Johor Following Disruption at Edra Power Plant

Kuala lumpur: The electricity supply in areas affected by the recent power outage incident at the Edra Power Plant in Melaka has been fully restored as of 5.54 pm today. This update was shared by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) through a Facebook post shortly after the restoration.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, TNB expressed gratitude to the affected customers for their patience and issued an apology for the inconvenience caused by the supply disruption. The public has been advised to report any further supply disruptions through various channels, including SARA the Chatbot on mytnb.com, the 15454 hotline, Facebook’s TNB Careline, or X @Tenaga_Nasional, as well as via email at [email protected].

Earlier in the day, TNB confirmed that several areas in the Klang Valley and Johor Baharu experienced power outages following a technical disruption at the independent generator station, Edra Power Plant, in Melaka. The disruption was detected at 4.12 pm, resulting in a load loss of 2,200 megawatts (MW) after the power station tripped.

While the primary incident has been resolved, TNB noted that there are still areas affected by separate, unrelated power supply disruptions that have not yet been restored. TNB assured that their team is actively working on repair efforts to address these issues as quickly as possible.

TNB emphasized its commitment to restoring power supply safely and promptly to maintain system stability and ensure customer comfort. The company reiterated its appreciation for the patience of those affected and offered apologies for the disruption.
