KUALA LUMPUR: The venue for the Super League match between Perak FC and defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), postponed to Sunday (Nov 10), has been switched from the Manjung Municipal Council Stadium to the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri, Johor.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Football League (MFL) stated that Perak were asked to name an alternative venue following a safety risk for the high-profile match. This measure is intended to prevent any incidents that could disrupt the league’s schedule for this season.
In response to the MFL’s request, Perak FC designated the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium as the new venue for the postponed match. Previous matches between Perak FC and JDT, scheduled for August 17 and October 5, were also postponed due to heavy rain. The decision to switch the venue this time aims to ensure that the 2024-2025 Malaysia Cup draw proceeds smoothly as planned.
Under coach Hector Bidoglio, JDT currently lead the 13-team standings with 37 points after 13 matc
hes. Selangor holds the second position with 29 points, while Perak stands in seventh place with 17 points.
