Kuala lumpur: The Postal Forum, a self-regulating body designated by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), today convened the Safety and Security Dialogue for Postal Industry. This is its first initiative of this kind aimed at strengthening regulatory awareness, industry standards, and operational accountability among postal service providers.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, as a self-regulatory body, the Postal Forum drives voluntary adoption of the industry code, upholds industry standards, and protects consumers, with MCMC serving as the designating authority under Sections 49 and 50 of the Postal Services Act 2012 (Act 741). In this capacity, the Postal Forum complements MCMC's regulatory oversight by fostering a culture of self-governance within the industry, ensuring that compliance is embraced as a shared value, not merely an enforcement obligation.
