Kuala lumpur: Pos Malaysia Bhd anticipates a notable rise in parcel volumes, expecting an increase of between 15 percent and 20 percent during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri season compared to regular months. This surge is largely attributed to the demand for Raya clothing and hijabs.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the national courier company has observed that the festive season consistently leads to a significant uptick in parcel volumes, especially during the Ramadan-to-Hari Raya period, exceeding its usual monthly delivery volumes. Group chief executive officer Charles Brewer highlighted that this trend is further fueled by e-commerce campaigns, festive gifting, and last-minute shipments as Malaysians gear up for the celebrations.
Brewer mentioned that Pos Malaysia is committed to maintaining operational readiness throughout the year to ensure seamless deliveries across the nation, particularly during festive times when parcel volumes escalate dramatically. He expressed confidence in the company's ability to manage the expected surge, stating, "As with every Hari Raya season, we anticipate an increase in parcel volumes and are fully prepared to manage the surge operationally while continuing to meet our market-leading parcel service level agreements."
To guarantee that parcels arrive in time for Aidilfitri celebrations, Brewer outlined several measures Pos Malaysia has implemented. These include advanced volume forecasting and demand planning using artificial intelligence, engaging closely with customers to predict surges, and clearly communicating Raya shipping cut-off dates. Additionally, the company is executing continuous operational monitoring, adjusting workforce and schedules during the Raya period, and enhancing external delivery capacity as necessary to accommodate peak demand.
