Kelantan: Police will probe into the death of the 19-month-old boy, Hud Aryan Mohd Nor Hafifi, thoroughly to ascertain if there is any element of negligence. Kelantan Police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said he had also instructed Tanah Merah Police chief Supt Mohd Haki Hasbullah to carry out further investigation into the boy’s family members.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Yusoff stated that he is monitoring TikTok as some netizens have claimed that the circumstances surrounding the child’s disappearance seemed illogical, given that, in just a few minutes, the boy was reported to have fallen into the river. The police are concerned about potential negligence but currently classify the case as a sudden death.
Mohd Yusoff explained that the post-mortem results on the child showed no bodily injuries or signs of foul play. He mentioned that the police would soon be recording statements from the boy’s parents and neighbors to gather more information.
Last Monday, the toddler was reported missing in Kampung Aira Kuala Tiga, prompting a search operation by the Water Rescue Team (PPDA) and the K9 Unit, with assistance from villagers. His body was discovered caught in tree branches at a river estuary near the village yesterday.
