Police Step Up Traffic Management As Aidiladha Exodus Builds Up In Gua Musang

Gua musang: Police have intensified traffic management preparations in Gua Musang following an increase in vehicle movement since noon today ahead of the school holidays and Aidiladha celebrations next week.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Gua Musang District Police Chief Supt Sik Choon Foo stated that traffic police personnel and several Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) units had been deployed to conduct continuous monitoring at key locations and bottleneck areas. Additional police personnel have been stationed at hotspot locations, including the Pahang-Kelantan border entry point along Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Lipis and the main route along Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai, in response to the increase in the number of vehicles entering the district compared to yesterday.

Furthermore, police have implemented traffic diversion measures to ease congestion at the Bendahara Junction at 1 pm today to facilitate smoother traffic flow towards Kuala Krai. Supt Sik Choon Foo noted that the swift action taken by the police helped to control the traffic build-up, which had stretched for more than one kilometre.

He added that traffic conditions have since returned to normal and remain under control, including at the Merapoh border in Pahang before entering Kampung Mentara. A survey conducted by Bernama as of 4 pm found that traffic flow in Gua Musang town, particularly along Jalan Persiaran Raya up to the traffic lights at Bendahara Junction, remained smooth with no congestion despite the increasing number of vehicles.
