Police Solve 20 Cattle Theft Cases, Arrest 10 Suspects

Kelantan: Police have busted a group believed to be involved in cattle theft in Kelantan following an operation conducted from June 17 to Aug 5, which led to the arrest of 10 individuals in several raids in Bachok, Pasir Puteh, and Kuala Terengganu.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat stated that the operation resulted in the arrest of eight men and two women, aged between 23 and 71. The police seized 32 cattle, eight mobile phones, a red plastic bag containing a bottle of liquid labeled Illium Xylazil-100, a syringe, a Toyota Hilux, and a Perodua Kancil during the raids.

The chief revealed that the suspects had 55 previous criminal records and 24 drug-related records. Additionally, one male suspect tested positive for methamphetamine. The arrests have enabled the police to solve 20 cattle theft cases in Kelantan, which involved estimated losses of RM96,000. All suspects were taken to the relevant District Police Headquarters for documentation and further investigation under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.

Police continue to conduct investigations to complete the investigation papers, as added by the police chief.
