Kajang: Police are looking for witnesses to assist in the investigation into the alleged molestation of a nine-year-old girl by a Bangladeshi worker at a convenience store in Kajang, near here, in February.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kajang Police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof mentioned that this search for witnesses was prompted by a viral video uploaded yesterday by X account holder @Negeri09. The video alleges an incident of sexual harassment involving a child, and it also shows a man being assaulted.
Checks revealed that a police report was lodged on March 12 by the victim’s 32-year-old father, who claimed that his daughter was molested on February 27. The report was filed after the victim disclosed the incident to her family on March 11.
Naazron highlighted that the witness to the incident has yet to be located to assist the investigation, as there is no closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the location. The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code and Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
He has urged anyone with information to come forward by contacting investigating officer Sgt Norfaziana Sirkam at 019-575 9045 or by reaching out to the nearby police station.
