Kota bharu: Police have opened an investigation paper in connection with a viral video showing a man kicking a young girl at a well-known Thai restaurant in Telipot here. Kota Bharu police chief ACP Mohd Azmir Damiri said police received a report from a member of the public at about 10.24 pm today regarding the video, which went viral on the Threads social media platform.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the video depicts the rough behaviour of a man kicking a young girl believed to be his daughter at a well-known Thai restaurant in Telipot. It was uploaded by the restaurant owner via their Facebook account. Mohd Azmir stated that the case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

He mentioned that police are still working to track down the man involved, as well as the young girl featured in the recording. Additionally, Mohd Azmir urged members of the public with information on the incident to channel it to Inspector Nur Faraheen Azman Lim at 011-11136722.
