Tapah: Police will continue investigating a man who allegedly posted defamatory content about the Tok Batin of Kampung Orang Asli Lubuk Gaharu, Pos Musoh, linked to the discovery of hiker Jaslinda Saludin, despite his public apology.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tapah district police chief Supt Abdul Malik Hasim stated that investigations will be conducted under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. This follows 11 police reports lodged by various parties, including a group of Tok Batin, concerning the issue.

'We will record the man's statement soon and obtain official verification from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on several matters, including the content of the video,' Supt Abdul Malik said when contacted today.

Yesterday, the man issued a public apology via a video recording following the controversy over a livestream on his TikTok account, which allegedly defamed Mohd Asmmadi and Jaslinda.

Earlier, during a livestream on the same account, the man allegedly claimed that Jaslinda had been 'kept' by Mohd Asmmadi for two weeks, and further alleged that if the matter had not gone viral, the Tok Batin might have married the woman.

Jaslinda, 49, was found safe by villagers in Kampung Lubuk Gaharu on Saturday after being missing for 14 days since May 24 while hiking Gunung Batu Putih, which stands at approximately 2,132 metres.
