Police Confirm Death of Year Four Pupil at Seremban School

Kuala lumpur: Police have confirmed the death of a Year Four male student at a school here today. Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad stated that further investigations are ongoing regarding the death of the 10-year-old pupil. “I confirm the incident; however, further investigations are still being carried out,” he told reporters.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the ministry is leaving the matter to the police to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation. She urged everyone to cooperate by being mindful of the family’s emotions and to avoid spreading any false speculation while waiting for the police to complete their investigation.

“The Ministry of Education (MoE) expresses its condolences and sorrow regarding this tragic incident. The ministry is providing the family with full emotional and psychosocial support during this time. We ask everyone to provide space, as this is a very distressing matter, and we hope the investigation can proceed swiftly and transparently. MoE will give its full commitment to the investigation,” she told reporters.

Fadhlina added that the ministry will focus entirely on providing psychosocial and emotional support to students and teachers at the school. She noted that starting tomorrow, counsellors will implement this intervention in an integrated manner to provide psychosocial support for both students and teachers at the school. The MoE is receiving support from the Ministry of Health, which will also be focusing on this intervention through ongoing efforts.
