Johor bahru: Constable R. G. Devendran from the Iskandar Puteri District Police Headquarters, a victim of the recent police helicopter crash, has been moved from the intensive care unit (ICU) to a general ward at Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA). Devendran had been in a medically induced coma following the accident.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, State Health and Environment Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon provided updates on other victims involved in the crash. Air observer Corporal Adeline Liu Yan Siu, initially admitted to the ICU, was discharged on Wednesday and is currently undergoing follow-up treatment at Serdang Hospital. Meanwhile, the pilot ACP Faizul Mohammad and his co-pilot Supt Ahmad Bustamin Baharom were released on Tuesday from Serdang Hospital and Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM, respectively.

Ling also noted that Sergeant Siti Latipa Khairuddin from the Tanjung Kupang police station continues to receive treatment in the general ward at HSA. “One of the victims (Devendran) is now in stable condition and has been moved from the ICU to a general ward to allow him to rest and continue receiving treatment,” Ling stated during a handover ceremony for bed donations by the Fo Guang Shan Association at HSA’s Women’s Ward PP1.

The helicopter crash occurred on July 10 in Sungai Pulai, Gelang Patah, during the Multilateral Nuclear Security Detection Exercise (MITSATOM) 2025. This exercise was a joint training operation involving Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore, conducted at the Gelang Patah Maritime Jetty.
