Nilai: Police raided an illegal drug processing laboratory around Nilai on Monday with a total value of RM3.2 million in seized property.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yusoff said the raid was conducted by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department, the state contingent, and the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Nilai district police headquarters. The operation resulted in the seizure of various equipment and liquid chemicals suspected of being used for drug processing.
In the raid, police arrested two local men and three foreigners, aged between 27 and 38. The police seized drugs believed to be cocaine, weighing an estimated 2,145 grammes and valued at RM429,000. They also confiscated various types of powder and liquid chemicals, along with electrical equipment suspected of being used in drug processing.
The raid further led to the seizure of four vehicles, cash amounting to RM66,830, various foreign currencies estimated at RM29,822.70, and jewellery and watches worth RM477,773.73, bringing the total seizure to RM2,777,426.43. Ahmad Dzaffir stated that the action was taken under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988.
He also mentioned that initial urine screening tests showed one local suspect and one foreigner tested positive for methamphetamine and benzo. Both individuals have prior criminal and drug records. All suspects have been remanded for seven days from February 18 to February 24, and the case is being investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
