Kuala lumpur: Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) has been urged to prioritize national and Bumiputera interests in its strategic review of investments in Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas), as emphasized by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar, who also serves as the Minister of Finance, asserted that PNB must uphold its responsibility in safeguarding national interests by maintaining its role and holdings in key strategic assets. He highlighted that the review process should not compromise long-term benefits for unit holders or the institution’s efforts in contributing to national development and the welfare of the people.
PNB confirmed that discussions are underway with various parties regarding its highway assets under Prolintas. The process is reportedly in its early stages, and no conclusions have been reached so far.
In a statement released to Bernama, PNB explained that the strategic review is part of its regular portfolio evaluation aimed at identifying opportunities to enhance long-term value for unit holders. The review includes several options such as retaining ownership of assets or collaborating with strategic partners.
