Kuala lumpur: Perikatan Nasional (PN) has clarified that any activity or meeting using the coalition's name must have prior approval from its chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan made this announcement following feedback from the Registrar of Societies (ROS). The feedback was referenced in a letter dated June 19, 2026, addressing the coalition's administrative and management issues.
Takiyuddin revealed that the coalition received confirmation from the ROS regarding the minutes from the PN Supreme Council's extraordinary meeting on February 22, 2026. This meeting included the council's acceptance of the resignation of the former chairman and the appointment of a new one.
The letter from ROS also acknowledged receipt of the minutes from the Supreme Council Meeting (No. 1/2026) dated March 14, 2026, along with the updated list of leadership appointments and new committee members of the PN Supreme Council. This documentation serves as a record for the ROS.
Takiyuddin emphasized that PN is dedicated to ensuring all activities, administrative tasks, and party management are conducted in line with the party's constitution and in compliance with Act 832.
Previously, media reports indicated that a PN Supreme Council meeting was planned for tonight. This was in response to a circulating social media poster featuring an AI-generated image of Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, claiming he would chair the meeting. However, Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali refuted this claim.
