Putrajaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s recent meeting with Barisan Nasional (BN) Members of Parliament focused on discussing government policies and clarifying current issues, as declared by BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zambry emphasized that such meetings occur regularly because BN is a component of the Unity Government. He noted that BN frequently engages in discussions, including regular sessions with top leaders not only from within BN but also from other coalition partners. These gatherings provide a platform for exchanging views and for the Prime Minister to offer updates on government policies and related matters.
The meeting with BN MPs took place at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Seri Perdana, Putrajaya, and lasted over an hour. It is believed that the session also addressed preparations for the upcoming Parliamentary sitting.
In his address at the Jeli UMNO Division Delegates Meeting in Bukit Nangka, Zambry, who serves as the Higher Education Minister and a UMNO Supreme Council member, urged party members in Kelantan to maintain their resolve and confidence in advancing the party’s mission in the state. He highlighted the spirit of relentless struggle that should be upheld by all UMNO members in Kelantan, citing the Nenggiri by-election last year, which BN won despite expectations.
“Our machinery was mobilized and we went to the ground,” he stated, reflecting on their unexpected victory achieved through unity and determination.
