PMR 2025 Johor Concludes, Draws Over 130,000 Visitors

Johor Bahru: The MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025 Johor held at Toppen Shopping Centre here concluded today, recording over 130,000 visitors throughout its three-day run.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) Deputy Secretary-General (Management), Abdullah Hasan, stated that the visitor count exceeded the initial target of 25,000, with a significant turnout especially on Saturday and Sunday. He mentioned that the PMR Johor successfully served as a communication platform, informing the public about government achievements while allowing citizens to share feedback with government agencies.

Abdullah highlighted that the programme enabled people to witness improvements and understand how they could benefit from various government initiatives. On the final day, the PMR Johor Secretariat reported a total of 136,395 visitors over the event’s duration.

The PMR 2025 Johor, organized by KBS in collaboration with the Johor State Secretary’s Office, was part of the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) under the Prime Minister’s Department’s efforts to connect the government with the public. The event, themed ‘Belia MADANI: Yakin Boleh!’, aligned with the MADANI Government’s aspirations and youth development policy goals.

Abdullah noted that the programme was tailored to young people’s aspirations, offering informative content and opportunities for youth engagement in self-development initiatives. The event featured exhibitions, service counters from government agencies, career opportunities, educational and training information, and entrepreneurship initiatives targeted at the youth.

He emphasized the availability of job and training opportunities, enabling direct engagement with agencies like the Ministry of Higher Education and those handling TVET. The programme also provided platforms for information on funding and financing, including the Sports Matching Grant and Community Sports Fund.

PMR 2025 Johor coincided with the State-level National Youth Day celebration, enhancing its impact as a dual-function event that empowered young people. Activities included sports, volunteerism, and character development tailored to current youth interests.

Johor was the second location for this year’s PMR roadshow after Sabah, with upcoming events planned in Lumut, Perak; Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu; Kota Lama, Kelantan; Nilai, Negeri Sembilan; Baling, Kedah; Jasin, Melaka; and Bintulu, Sarawak.

PMR has evolved into a strategic platform uniting Federal and State Governments, Ministries, government agencies, and government-linked companies (GLCs) in delivering information, opportunities, and services directly to the public.
