PM Commends MTQHA Management for Successful Event, Calls for Continued Dedication

Kuala lumpur: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, announced that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has commended the management of the 65th International Quran Recitation and Memorisation Competition (MTQHA), which concluded recently.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Na’im expressed in a Facebook post that the event proceeded smoothly and left a significant impact on both the people and the nation. He emphasized that the prime minister’s acknowledgment should inspire those involved to further their efforts with increased creativity and sincerity for the benefit of the religion, the nation, and the country.

He extended his congratulations to the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) director-general Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee, the 2025 MTQHA committee, and other agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) for their success. He noted that the dedication, hard work, and sacrifices made by everyone involved are commendable acts that are hoped to be rewarded by Allah SWT.

The competition, held at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre from August 2, saw Malaysia’s male and female reciters triumph in their respective categories. Aiman Ridhwan Mohamad Ramlan clinched the title in the qari category with a score of 97.01 percent, surpassing competitors from Indonesia and Turkiye. Meanwhile, Wan Sofea Aini Wan Mohd Zahidi emerged victorious in the qariah category, with a score of 95.88 percent, outperforming participants from Morocco and Indonesia.
