PM Anwar’s Commitment to Sabah Sparks Hope Among Moyog Constituents

Penampang: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s unwavering commitment to Sabah has reignited the aspirations of Moyog constituents for ongoing development and stable leadership, according to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Deputy Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister emphasized that the constituents of Moyog, a seat within the Penampang parliamentary constituency, are hopeful for leadership that can unite the community and further Sabah’s ambitions to become a competitive and dignified state. The assurance stems from the Prime Minister’s frequent visits to Sabah, each marked by explicit policies and commitments aimed at bolstering the state’s progress.

Ramanan highlighted the public’s confidence in the MADANI Government led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, underscoring that his regular visits are accompanied by clear strategies to enhance Sabah’s development. He shared these views in a Facebook post, reflecting on the positive reception of the Prime Minister’s efforts in the region.

Earlier, Ramanan joined Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Remysta Jimmy Taylor, who is contesting for the Moyog seat in the 17th Sabah State Election, at the nomination centre located at Dewan Kebudayaan Penampang. The event saw the attendance of nearly 1,000 PH members and supporters. Ramanan expressed his gratitude to the grassroots party machinery for their unwavering support throughout the nomination process.

The Moyog seat is witnessing a direct contest between candidates from PKR-PH and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS). Alongside Moyog, the Kapayan state seat has also become a significant battleground under the Penampang parliamentary constituency in the state elections. Historically, the Moyog seat was held by Warisan, with Jenifer Lasimbang securing victory in 2018 and Derrel Liking in 2020.

The 17th Sabah State Election commenced today, marked by the nomination process at 25 centres for candidates vying for the 73 state seats.
