Seberang perai tengah: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for priority to be given to the immediate resolution of critical local issues, particularly in agriculture, drainage, flood mitigation, education, and healthcare in Seberang Perai Tengah. He emphasized this need during the Seberang Perai Tengah District Development Meeting held today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted the importance of avoiding delays in addressing these issues, as they significantly impact the lives of the people awaiting solutions. He stressed the need for strengthened coordination between the federal and state governments to ensure that decisions are translated into concrete actions. Anwar has set a two-week deadline for all parties to report progress and follow-up actions on every agreed decision, underscoring that the true measure of success is not in announcements but in tangible changes on the ground. He emphasized that the people deserve to witness these changes immediately.
The meeting also focused on ensuring effective implementation of policies announced over the past three years to meet the needs of local communities. Discussions included reviewing initiatives with a direct impact on the people, such as hardcore poverty eradication, upgrading of hawker stalls, SejaTi MADANI, Kampung Angkat MADANI, Sekolah Angkat MADANI, special state economic projects, and safety measures in Seberang Perai Tengah.
Anwar instructed the District Officer and his team to prioritize the development of 30 new classrooms in 10 schools within the district to ensure a smooth intake of Year 1 students next year. He urged swift implementation without delays.
Additionally, the Prime Minister reminded all parties to not be complacent with figures on paper. He called for continuous verification of reports on zero hardcore poverty with local leaders to ensure no family is left behind. Similarly, he emphasized that reductions in crime rates must result from effective enforcement efforts.
