PM Anwar Urges Parents To Nurture Future Local Experts

Sabah: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged parents to prioritise nurturing and educating their children to become the local experts Malaysia urgently needs for the future. He said the MADANI government is actively promoting Malaysia to companies abroad to attract investment and new technologies, which requires a strong pool of skilled professionals.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar expressed high hopes that more local youths will seize opportunities to become experts and, as much as possible, prevent these opportunities from going to foreign talents. ‘With rapid technological advancements, especially in AI, parents must pay close attention. We need our students to excel in English, study science, technology, and mathematics diligently, and maintain strong discipline.

‘This mindset must be instilled in our children. We can only bring foreign companies to Sabah, Selangor, Penang, Kedah, and other states-our role is to act as the nation’s salesperson, meaning we attract their interest. But if our workforce is not well-trained, we will be forced to rely on foreign experts,’ he said in his speech at the MADANI state-level Iftar event in Sabah this evening.

Also present were Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, and Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick. Anwar emphasised that if the younger generation is properly nurtured to lead the nation, he is confident that Malaysia would be on the right path to becoming a developed country equipped with the latest technology.

‘Please remember ‘Tok’ Anwar’s message well (children). Transform yourselves into experts to drive our nation forward and serve our people in the best possible way,’ he said.
