Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged all relevant parties to seize the opportunity to move towards a comprehensive and enduring peace in Gaza, amid reports of progress in ceasefire negotiations. Anwar noted that the development offers a semblance of hope after months of unbearable suffering and devastation in the enclave.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar welcomed reports of progress in negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza. He emphasized that every effort that can bring an end to the violence and protect innocent lives must be pursued with sincerity and urgency, as expressed in a Facebook post today.

Anwar also reaffirmed Malaysia’s full solidarity with the people of Palestine in their pursuit of justice, dignity, and statehood. Media reports today mentioned that the Palestinian group Hamas announced its agreement to the first phase of US President Donald Trump’s Gaza ceasefire plan, expressing appreciation for his efforts as well as those of Trkiye, Qatar, and Egypt.
