Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to spearhead the Ihya’ Ramadan programme across various ministries during this holy month, as announced by his senior press secretary Tunku Nashrul Abaidah. The initiative is aimed at transforming Ramadan into a spiritual ‘madrasah,’ enhancing not only worship but also the values and ethics within national administration.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tunku Nashrul elaborated that the Prime Minister plans to visit numerous ministries to engage with civil servants. These visits will feature brief religious talks delivered by Anwar himself and invited speakers. The programme is designed to reinforce values such as honesty, discipline, and responsibility among civil servants, aligning with the Well-being pillar under the MADANI framework, as stated by Tunku Nashrul during the Daily Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Briefing. This briefing was streamed live on Anwar’s and PMO’s official Facebook pages.
Tunku Nashrul further mentioned that the Prime Minister has consented to visit several states during Ramadan. These visits aim to bolster cooperation between the federal and state governments and include meeting the public at MADANI Iftar gatherings. Official government channels will soon announce the specific dates and locations for these events.
The PMO is encouraging public participation in these gatherings to symbolize unity and togetherness. As Tunku Nashrul emphasized, the government considers clear communication, administrative transparency, and the reinforcement of spiritual values as crucial for building trust between the government and the populace. Therefore, the PMO invites everyone to support and participate in these initiatives for national betterment and progress, marking Ramadan as a month of renewal in communication, governance, and daily life.
