PM Anwar to Discuss Cabinet Reshuffle and Minister’s Resignation on Tuesday

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to hold a crucial briefing with the Cabinet on Tuesday, focusing on a potential reshuffle of ministerial positions. This announcement comes from Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, who confirmed the upcoming meeting while addressing attendees at the 2025 Amanah National Convention.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister will also use this briefing to address the recent resignation of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick. Mohamad Sabu mentioned that while he had heard about Ewon’s resignation through media reports, the official explanation from the Prime Minister is keenly awaited during Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting. He refrained from providing further comments on the reshuffle until after the discussion.

Mohamad Sabu also assured that Ewon’s resignation is not expected to impact Pakatan Harapan’s performance in the impending 17th Sabah state election. Ewon had announced his departure from the ministerial post, citing his adherence to principles concerning Sabah’s right to 40 percent of federal revenue derived from the state, a matter of significant political and economic importance.
