Kota kinabalu: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to chair the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) Implementation Action Council meeting at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) this Friday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah and Sarawak), Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, confirmed that Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor are expected to attend, with Sabah hosting the significant meeting. This gathering is a critical platform for discussing the implementation of MA63, which delineates the rights and interests of Sabah and Sarawak within the Malaysian federation.
Mustapha highlighted that the upcoming meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, will serve as one of the primary forums for dialogue between the federal government and the states of Sabah and Sarawak. There will also be a special session dedicated to addressing specific matters related to MA63. Mustapha mentioned his intention to discuss these issues during the meeting, following his remarks at a ceremony for fire victims at Kolej Tingkatan Enam Prauniversiti Kota Kinabalu earlier today.
The MA63 Implementation Action Council meeting is regarded as a vital mechanism for coordinating and resolving issues pertaining to the rights and interests of Sabah and Sarawak, ensuring that the provisions of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 are effectively executed.
