PM Anwar To Amplify Malaysia’s Voice And Interests During Three-Nation Africa Tour

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced his commitment to enhancing Malaysia’s presence on the international stage through an upcoming tour to three African nations, with Ethiopia as the initial destination.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized that these visits highlight Malaysia’s dedication to strengthening multilateral relations, expanding economic and investment opportunities, and deepening diplomatic ties. In a Facebook post, he sought the nation’s prayers for the success of these diplomatic engagements, expressing hope that they would yield significant benefits for Malaysia.

Anwar and the Malaysian delegation are currently on their way to Addis Ababa, where they will engage in a bilateral meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali. The itinerary also includes interactions with industry leaders, the business community, and Islamic leaders in Ethiopia.

Following Ethiopia, Anwar will travel to Johannesburg, South Africa, to represent Malaysia at the G20 Leaders’ Summit and meet with President Cyril Ramaphosa. The tour will conclude with a visit to Nairobi, Kenya, where discussions with President William Ruto will focus on strengthening bilateral ties, exploring new opportunities for cooperation, and engaging with Islamic leaders.
