PM Anwar Launches Rakan Masjid X Rakan Muda Ramadan Initiative to Engage Youth

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today launched the Rakan Masjid X Rakan Muda Ramadan initiative aimed at connecting mosque institutions with youth through a fresher and more inclusive approach. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the Malaysia MADANI aspirations, which focus on holistic human development. Anwar highlighted that mosques should not only be seen as places of worship but also as centers for community unity and character development.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar expressed that youth should be given the opportunity and trust to lead activities that benefit society. He praised young leaders who focus on elevating humanity and faith during Ramadan, avoiding divisive issues. The Prime Minister made these remarks at the breaking of fast ceremony, which also served as the launch event for the Rakan Masjid X Rakan Muda Ramadan initiative.

The event was attended by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr. Zulkifli Hassan, Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari, and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Marhamah Rosli. Anwar also emphasized the importance of strengthening mosque institutions as centers for ummah development and platforms for instilling values of compassion and unity, particularly among the younger generation.

The Rakan Muda Ramadan programme is set to be implemented across all states and 113 districts nationwide. Each state aims to have 400 participants, with the exception of Perlis and Labuan, which will have 300 participants each, totaling 5,800 participants at the state level. At the district level, a total of 130 participants are expected, bringing the overall number of participants to 14,690.
