Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will deliver the 2026 National Day 'Amanat Perdana' on Aug 30 to convey the aspirations and hopes of the MADANI Government leadership on the importance of embracing the spirit of independence and fostering patriotism among Malaysians. Organised by the National Unity Ministry, the event will be held at Dataran Merdeka, featuring various programmes starting as early as 5 pm, including the Merdeka Eve Animation Concert, World Festival of Lights, Gema Perpaduan Malaysia MADANI cultural performance, a special Independence Musical segment, and performances by leading local artistes.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang emphasized that the well-being the country aspires to achieve cannot be realized without strong unity. He highlighted the importance of cultivating understanding, respect, acceptance, and celebration within Malaysia's rich religious, cultural, and linguistic diversity. Dagang stated, "Let us continue to foster the spirit of mutual understanding, respect, and acceptance of diversity, because it is through togetherness that Malaysia draws its strength to continue progressing in harmony and prosperity."
The National Unity Ministry, acting as the secretariat for the event, has invited the public to attend Anwar's address at Dataran Merdeka. The speech will also be broadcast live on TV1 and the RTMKlik application starting at 9.30 pm. The event is themed 'Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati', and the 69th National Day celebration will be held at Dataran Putrajaya, with an expected turnout of more than 80,000 visitors.
