Bandar seri begawan: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today extended his prayers and well-wishes to the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. In a Facebook post, Anwar said he had received news that the Sultan is scheduled to undergo medical treatment soon.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a statement from the Brunei Prime Minister's Office yesterday indicated that Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah is scheduled to undergo a right knee replacement surgery on Jan 18. Anwar expressed his hope for the Sultan's lasting good health and prayed for the continued protection and grace of Allah SWT upon him.

Anwar added his wishes for the Sultan to continue leading the Nation of Brunei Darussalam with wisdom and sound judgment. The Prime Minister's message underscores the close ties between Malaysia and Brunei, highlighting the importance of the Sultan's health and leadership.
