PM Anwar Extends Contribution To Veteran Journalist Nas Ahmad

Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended a contribution to veteran journalist Md Nasir Ahmad, commonly known as Nas Ahmad, who is currently dealing with health issues. His political secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, delivered the assistance during a visit to the journalist’s home in Kota Damansara, Selangor.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Farhan shared in a Facebook post that Nas Ahmad, a former entertainment journalist, suffered a heart attack several years ago, which was followed by vision problems due to cataracts, rendering him unable to work. The loss of income has left him dependent on his family and public assistance.

Ahmad Farhan recounted their conversation during the visit, where Nas Ahmad discussed the difficulties he faces, including the increasing cost of medical treatment, the responsibility of supporting his family, and the limitations imposed by his health condition.

During his career, Md Nasir was known for advocating the welfare of artists and individuals in the creative industry. However, his current health challenges have significantly altered his circumstances. Ahmad Farhan expressed hope that the contribution would help alleviate some of his burdens and wished Nas Ahmad good health and peace for him and his family.
