New delhi: After concluding his working visit to Sabah today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim departed for New Delhi to attend the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit, where he is also scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar announced on Facebook that he plans to meet with the Prime Minister of India, as well as the presidents of Russia, Iran, and Kazakhstan, and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia. His agenda in India includes discussions on various international issues and strengthening bilateral relations.

In addition to the summit activities, Anwar's itinerary includes a visit to Keralam to meet the Grand Mufti of India. During this visit, he aims to exchange views on community development, education, and religious affairs, highlighting the importance of religious and cultural diplomacy.

Following his commitments in India, Anwar will travel to Mal©, Maldives for an official visit at the invitation of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. This visit is expected to focus on enhancing cooperation between the two nations.

Anwar expressed his hopes for the success of his diplomatic engagements, wishing for smooth proceedings and tangible benefits for Malaysia.
