PM Anwar Contributes RM100,000 To ASWO For World Music Contest

Putrajaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has contributed RM100,000 to the Alam Shah Wind Orchestra (ASWO) to support its preparations for the World Music Contest 2026 in Kerkrade, the Netherlands, on July 30. He stated that the contribution aims to assist in covering preparation and travel expenses for 46 students from Form Two to Form Four of Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah, who will represent Malaysia at the international event.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized the significance of the students' participation in the competition, highlighting that their ability to perform on a global platform demonstrates the nation's strength. He noted that this strength is not solely about numbers and physical development but also about cultivating confidence, maturity, and identity among the youth. Anwar expressed his hopes that this effort would continue to inspire the students to achieve success.

Anwar, who also serves as Finance Minister, mentioned that the contribution was made during his visit to the school, where he assessed its infrastructure and interacted with the ASWO team members. He conveyed his aspirations for the team to succeed and bring pride to Malaysia on the world stage.
