Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has commended the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) for its enduring commitment to student activism and Islamic outreach since its founding on August 6, 1971.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar expressed his admiration for ABIM in a Facebook post, highlighting that the organization's 55th anniversary signifies more than just the passage of time. He emphasized that ABIM's history is characterized by sacrifice, integrity, compassion, and faith.

Anwar, who previously served as ABIM's president, noted that the organization's mission extends beyond religious preaching. He praised ABIM for its efforts in strengthening the Muslim community, supporting marginalized groups, educating generations, upholding human dignity, and maintaining hope amid confusion.

"May ABIM, at 55, remain a tree firmly rooted in its values, strong enough to withstand storms, and with branches that continue to shelter the community," Anwar conveyed in his message. He concluded with a heartfelt wish, "Happy 55th anniversary, ABIM."
