Putrajaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today called for an immediate and transparent investigation into the assault case involving the son of former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar stated that he had communicated the urgency of the investigation to Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. The Prime Minister expressed his concerns by highlighting the unresolved issue of bullying in schools, describing the recent incident as a “malicious and treacherous assault” against Rafizi’s son. Anwar conveyed these sentiments in a Facebook post, where he also extended his prayers for the well-being of Rafizi and his family during this challenging time.

Rafizi previously detailed the incident, stating that it occurred at approximately 1.45 pm while his son and wife were getting into their car at a shopping mall in Putrajaya. He recounted that a man approached and pricked his son with a syringe. The assault was reportedly carried out by two men on a motorcycle, both wearing black attire and helmets. Following the attack, Rafizi’s son was immediately taken to a hospital for necessary medical treatment.
