Putrajaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and members of the Cabinet today joined thousands of Malaysians in celebrating the 69th National Day at Dataran Putrajaya, here. Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail arrived at the royal stage at 7.53 am as the Hormat Perdana song was played.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was among the early arrivals at Dataran Putrajaya, reaching the venue at 7.45 am. The celebrations were also attended by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, who serves as the chairman of the main committee for the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebrations, alongside Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and other Cabinet ministers.
The event was graced by deputy ministers, dignitaries, and foreign delegates who gathered to mark the 69th National Day celebrations themed 'Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati'. The event boasted participation from 10,819 individuals representing 76 contingents and featured 22 marching bands. The display included 11 decorated cars, 328 land, sea, and air assets, 112 working animals, and 22 electric vehicle (EV) assets that captivated those in attendance.
