PM Anwar Approves Over RM20 Million for Upgrades in Kedah

Kulim: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced an immediate allocation of RM18 million to enhance the piping and wiring systems at the 2nd Battalion General Operations Force (GOF) camp. The allocation includes RM10 million dedicated to restoring the water supply and RM8 million for wiring repairs.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister Anwar shared that his decision followed discussions with GOF personnel regarding their current challenges, including water rationing. "This is 2026, and they work hard in the field and, when they return, they have to think about water rationing. So, we have immediately approved the RM10 million allocation," Anwar stated during a breaking-of-fast event with the Home Ministry.

Additionally, the prime minister declared a RM2.69 million allocation for the refurbishment of pondok schools in Kedah. "For Kedah, we have identified the need for an immediate allocation for 15 small projects for pondok schools to be repaired," he mentioned.

In his address, Anwar emphasized the government's commitment to combating corruption and financial leakages, highlighting that RM15.5 billion in revenue was collected due to stringent measures. He questioned the previous lack of collections, urging continued vigilance against misuse. He noted that those affected by these measures are not ordinary citizens but individuals with significant influence.

Anwar urged all parties to remain vigilant against becoming instruments for irresponsible entities, stressing the importance of safeguarding the nation despite differing opinions.
