PLUS Malaysia Berhad Anticipates Surge of 2.2 Million Vehicles on Expressways

Kuala lumpur: PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) anticipates a significant increase in traffic, with nearly 2.2 million vehicles expected daily on its expressway network from tomorrow until Sunday. This surge comes as city dwellers make their return after the festive holidays.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the increase in vehicles will result from a mix of long-distance and intercity travel towards the Klang Valley. The end of the Aidiladha holidays, combined with overlapping festive celebrations and school holidays, is expected to contribute to this rise in vehicular movement.

PLUS has advised motorists to refer to the MyPLUS Travel Time Advisory (MyPLUS-TTA) available through the PLUS app. Planning return journeys according to the recommended travel times is crucial to balance traffic flow and minimize congestion at critical points along the expressways. To accommodate the increased traffic, PLUS will activate Smart Lanes at 33 hotspot locations. Additionally, public amenities at Rest and Service Areas (RandR) and lay-bys, including food and beverage outlets, will operate 24 hours a day.

For those requiring emergency assistance, members of the public can reach out to PLUSLine at 1800-88-0000 or LPT2Line at 1800-88-0220.
